Human Values Foundation

Life-enriching values for everyone

What Professionals say about the Primary programme, Education in Human Values (EHV)

Some headteachers have commented that, based on the Human Values Foundation’s engaging materials, even after only one month of implementing the various teaching techniques and approaches, a marked improvement in atmosphere and behaviour throughout the whole school became evident.
The Human Values Foundation’s programmes are exciting and innovative ways of exploring a values-based education system. They appeal to children, parents, teachers and headteachers alike, because the values are truly universal. Assessments have rated the programmes as offering everyone the very best of values education. The resourses are ideally suitable for Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) lessons; Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) education; Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL); Citizenship / Democracy; and assemblies.

We introduced Education in Human Values (EHV) a few years ago. Since then this school has been transformed. Our collective vision is united, we have become a caring, supportive team, behaviour is good, children love their school, and are committed to learning and everyone is happy - including the inspectors!
Too good to be true? Not at all. This programme has truly transformed the ethos of our school. It underpins all that we do and every interaction. Using EHV through Collective Worship and a commitment to cross curricular planning and teaching incorporating the EHV themes, we have created a culture which any society would envy. It can be done - you can turn your school round with this programme.
I believe every school in the land should use EHV - it will work with any religious or cultural background - it could revolutionise our society (and many of us believe that there is a great need for that). I recommend it strongly to all schools.

I must write to let you know just how wonderful we at school are finding Education in Human Values as part of our work for the Healthy Schools award. All the teachers enjoy using it and the children enjoy the whole experience. I heartily recommend the whole approach to any school.

The EHV programme gives me eighteen months of material and a great structure for all PSHE and Citizenship issues. It has been a most valuable resource and I would recommend it to any colleague looking for assembly and PSHE themes. It is the best material at that price that I've ever purchased in my teaching career.

The EHV materials have been examined during the inspection and have been found to be of excellent quality.

Our school will always be indebted to the Human Values Foundation. Your learning modules on values education were guidelines in many lessons and assemblies. The Human Values Foundation in the UK helped a South African school more than six thousand miles away to find its true humanity. You helped us find the Mandela way of reconciliation, peace and goodwill to all.

The impact the EHV programme made on the children's attitudes and behaviour was immediate and it has been positively and highly praised in our recent inspection. I cannot think of any school that would not benefit from it and I will certainly be recommending it to my colleagues.
