Dear June

Following our recent Ofsted and Church School inspections I want to celebrate with you the massive endorsement of the Education in Human Values programme. The SIAS inspector was sceptical at first as the programme is not exclusively Christian in concept. But he soon realised how accessible to all religious groups it is and that the Christian emphasis we give to it makes it ideal in a Church School setting.  He saw the potential of the EHV programme and was really impressed with its impact on the children as was the Ofsted inspection team who came a few days beforehand.

We introduced EHV a few years ago.  Since then this school has been transformed.  Our collective vision is united, we have become a caring, supportive team, behaviour is good, children love their school and are committed to learning and everyone is happy including the inspectors!

Too good to be true?  Not at all.  This programme has truly transformed the ethos of our school.  It underpins all that we do and every interaction.  Ours is a Church of England school with mixed cultural backgrounds and it works for us -  it will work for any school.  Using EHV through Collective Worship and a commitment to cross curricular planning and teaching incorporating the EHV themes we have created a culture which any society would envy. It can be done you can turn your school round with this programme.

I believe every school in the land should use EHV it will work with any religious or cultural background - it could revolutionise our society (and many of us believe that there is a great need for that).  I recommend it strongly to all schools and welcome anyone to visit us at Preston Primary to see for themselves.

Best wishes
