Human Values Foundation

Life-enriching values for everyone

EHV banner

EHV is a series of lesson plans based on five universal core values which transcend religious and cultural differences

More than 1,000 UK schools have already found this deeply researched and clear approach to values education to be a long-sought after answer to apparently insoluble problems facing our society.

The Education in Human Values Lesson Plans are comprehensive and universal. They cover many spiritual and moral values. They give children confidence and self-esteem, thereby helping to tackle some of society’s problems such as crime, racism, drug abuse and violence. They help children find ways in which they can live harmoniously and effectively with others.

Based on the principal values of Truth, Love, Peace, Right Conduct and Non-violence and incorporating many other related values, they are entirely practical, being taught through a range of techniques. These techniques include: class discussions; story telling; singing; quotations; group activities and silent sitting (sometimes known as silent reflection). This programme is focused on primary school children of 5-12 years and is already benefiting many thousands of children in schools throughout the United Kingdom.

Many teachers, including those overseas, find the training film that is available, very helpful as it shows how the values have been fully integrated into school communities and taught in the UK.
